The weekend of March 2-4, 2007 saw the first ever anime convention in Kansas City, Naka-Kon, presented by the KU (University of Kansas) Anime Club. Though this is the first year of the convention in KC, this is the third Naka-Kon that they have put on. The first two being held on the University of Kansas campus, thus their theme this year "We're not in Kansas anymore...". This was my first time to an anime con but I have been an anime fan for many years (although still mostly a neo-fan). I have been to many SF/F and media cons over the years (far from a neo-fan here). I had a fun and very enjoyable weekend, meeting new friends, and taking lots of photos. Below and on the pages that follow are a selection of some of my best or most interesting pics. Check out the pics from the MascaRAVE (the dance) on Friday and Saturday nights.
